Our Vision is An End to Knowledge Loss

Knowledge engines that compress tacit human domain knowledge into a universal semantic model will not only enable AI agents to autonomously learn, reason, predict, decide, and act with superhuman speed and precision in perpetuity, they will also be the primer for artificial super intelligence ⓘ.

OUR STORY

From High-Frequency Trading to AI Innovation

Accrete’s mission is to end organizational knowledge loss by compressing tacit human domain knowledge into knowledge engines that enable AI agents to make superhuman predictions and decisions in perpetuity. Prior to launching Accrete in 2017, Prashant spent over a decade building high frequency trading systems that used rules based algorithms on structured data to arbitrage mispriced securities between exchanges. Prashant believed that the digital explosion would make it impossible for humans to make sense of contradictory narratives, viral influence, and misinformation. Prashant hypothesized that if he could get a computer to read, understand, reason, and learn more efficiently than human experts, he could mine an ocean of predictive alpha buried in unstructured data at scale.

Breakthroughs in Information Compression

The advent of transformers in 2017, a type of deep learning neural network that enables AI models to compress information by creating mathematical representations of context, enabled AI models to learn by example from unlabeled data in an unsupervised manner. Prashant and his team began work to modify transformer models to compress tacit human domain expertise into AI software that could reason at scale, learn from human feedback while online, build upon accumulated knowledge, and extract predictive insight from dynamic unstructured data that human experts couldn’t.

A Billion Epiphanies to Creating Enterprise Value Using Knowledge Engines to Combat Knowledge Loss

To mine unstructured data for alpha, Prashant and his team leveraged deep learning and reinforcement learning breakthroughs to develop AI models capable of reasoning and predicting better than human experts. These models demonstrated their efficacy in extracting alpha in M&A rumors and predicting the virality of commercially viable musical artists from pre-release social chatter. Realizing that Accretes AI knowledge engines could extract alpha in any domain, Prashant and his team developed a platform for scalable development of Knowledge Engines, the engines transform human expertise and data into autonomously constructed knowledge graphs. These self perpetuating graphs are semantic models that produce predictive insight from dynamic unstructured data with superhuman accuracy. Knowledge engines enable AI agents to reason using long term memory, collaborate with other agents in multi agent frameworks, learn continuously through natural interaction, and ultimately make better decisions than human experts.

Trusted by Government, Valued by Business

Today, Accrete is a dual use enterprise AI company that licenses highly specialized high-performance expert AI agents to both government and enterprise customers struggling with information overload and knowledge loss. Accrete’s Knowledge Engines compress tacit domain expertise into AI software that reasons at superhuman scale and generates predictive insight accurate enough to drive automated decisions. Accrete’s customers include the U.S. Department of Defense, the U.S. Special Operations Command, the U.S. Army, and Fortune 500 companies in industries including Media and Entertainment and Consumer Goods.

Board of Directors

Prashant Bhuyan

Founder, CEO, and Chairman
Prashant Bhuyan
Founder, CEO, and Chairman

Prashant is the Founder, CEO, and Chairman of Accrete, Inc., a dual use enterprise AI company launched in 2017. Accrete licenses AI knowledge engines and expert AI agents to organizations with increasingly complex information silos that stifle decision making. At Accrete, Prashant sets strategic direction and executes a product focused strategy to win share in a rapidly emerging market for AI knowledge engines and expert agents. Accrete’s knowledge engines enable AI agents, seeded with the expertise, intuition, judgement, and ethics of an organization’s best people, to reason across information silos at superhuman scale and make split second decisions beyond human capacity.

Prashant spent the decade prior to launching Accrete building high frequency trading systems where he hypothesized that there was an ocean of predictive “alpha” buried in unstructured data but required superhuman reasoning to mine it. After a series of early breakthroughs in the application of transformers to capture and scale the tacit domain knowledge of financial analysts to predict market moving M&A rumors, Prashant rolled his team and technology into a new structure and launched Accrete to build out the knowledge engine platform and commercialize the technology. Prashant and his team have spent the past 15+ years building and refining a platform that scales the production of knowledge engines to power expert AI agents.

Today, Accrete’s AI knowledge engines and expert AI agents are in production with an expanding customer roster including the U.S. Department of Defense, U.S. Special Operations Command, U.S. Army, and the U.S. Air Force as well as Fortune 500 companies in Consumer Goods, Media and Entertainment, and Finance. Prashant serves on the Atlantic Council Commission on Defense Innovation and spurred the Atlantic Council initiative, “Eye to Eye in AI: Developing Artificial Intelligence for National Security and Defense” that calls for standardization in performance, ethics, bias, and explainability to accelerate inefficient acquisition and procurement processes for critical dual use AI technologies to gain a decision advantage over adversaries. Prashant is a graduate of Hamilton College and lives in Lower Manhattan with his family.

Commodity LLMs can already pass standardized tests meant to test general intelligence in humans. However, LLMs cannot create new knowledge and insight that doesn’t already explicitly exist in the training text. Meanwhile, humans struggle to connect dots across siloed data due to limitations in biological reasoning. Accrete’s knowledge engines autonomously transform tacit human domain knowledge and siloed data into knowledge graphs that semantically unify siloed data according to an expert’s implicit definition of ground truth. Accrete’s knowledge engines transform commodity LLMs into expert AI agents that can reason across complex siloed data, mine collective intelligence, and create new knowledge and predictive insight that will soon drive autonomous decisions that will far outperform the capabilities of the best human experts. We believe that the transfer of tacit knowledge between human experts to a universal knowledge engine will be the primer of artificial superintelligence. We also believe that those human experts that harness the power of knowledge engines will themselves become superintelligent.
