Accrete is pleased to announce the appointment of Brian Drake as Federal Chief Technology Officer for its government-facing subsidiary, Accrete AI Government. Brian will be located in Accrete’s Alexandria, VA office and report to Bill Wall, CEO of Accrete AI Government. Brian will leverage over a decade of experience gained at the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), where he served in several operational and technical roles countering malign influence, violent extremism, and adversary intelligence services. Drake was the DIA’s first Director of Artificial Intelligence and recently departed as the Chief of the Senior Leadership and Technology Team at the Pentagon. Brian will be instrumental in helping Accrete expand and convert federal opportunities; assess the competitive landscape and identify greenfield opportunities; help navigate complex procurement processes; and help establish congressional standards around AI performance, explainability, bias, and ethics.

Brian Drake has more than twenty years of experience in the management consulting, defense, intelligence, and security industries. He served as the Chief of the Leadership and Technology Intelligence Briefing Team for the Secretary of Defense, Deputy Secretary, the Undersecretary for Policy, and other “E Ring” principals. Prior to this, he was the Director of Artificial Intelligence in the Future Capabilities and Innovation Office where he managed a portfolio of AI capabilities for the Defense Intelligence Enterprise. In 2021, he was named by Federal Computer Week as one of the Federal 100 for his work in Artificial Intelligence. Brian is a passionate philanthropist and is President and CEO of the Defense Intelligence Memorial Foundation which distributes scholarship funds to the families of Defense Intelligence officers killed in the line of duty. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Mercer University and a Masters in Security Studies from Georgetown University.
