Accrete AI Government LLC, a federal subsidiary of Accrete, Inc., has received a $15 million Program Year 2025 Strategic Funding Increase (STRATFI) by AFWERX and SpaceWERX.
This STRATFI award represents the U.S. Government’s long-term commitment to furthering the capabilities of Accrete’s AI Knowledge Engine platform. Accrete’s AI Knowledge Engines power autonomous enterprises by enabling organizations to encode the tacit domain knowledge, experience, judgement, and values of its best people into Expert AI Agents like Argus that give the United States a decision advantage over adversaries. Knowledge Engines semantically unify complex information silos using codified tacit domain knowledge for contextual grounding, producing a ground truth kernel that forms the basis for long-term autonomous reasoning and persistent memory required for AI Agents to make expert decisions.
For instance, Argus continuously ingests information from sources with varying architectures, schemas, and modalities, expertly reasons across siloed data according to an implicit understanding of influence, and reveals hidden vulnerabilities too complex for humans to surface. As Argus connects dots in data, it learns and builds upon accumulated knowledge in perpetuity, refining its reasoning through human interaction over time. The planned advancements will provide unparalleled situational awareness of low-density social media platforms currently unmonitored by the Air Force or Department of Defense (DoD) elements. Accrete worked with the customer to identify additional platform functionality that supports their specific mission.
Amongst the greatest threats to the United States are adversaries manipulating information to exploit the limitations of biological reasoning for the purpose of shaping narratives and manipulating human behavior. This award further reinforces the government’s confidence in Accrete's ability to deliver real-world AI solutions at production scale that bolster national security. Our mission is to give our federal customers the decision advantage and to enable them to proactively detect and deter next-generation threat vectors.
We believe that Accrete’s federal customers are early in the operationalization of Knowledge Engines and are a leading indicator of what’s to come in terms of enterprise demand. Corporations will soon realize that you can’t just employ an LLM to replace half your workforce. AI is much more powerful than retrieval augmented search (RAG) using commodity LLMs on siloed data. LLMs are an interface that optimizes sequential text processing, not the mind that can generate new knowledge and insight that doesn’t explicitly exist in the training text.
The transformative enterprise value of AI is in capturing and scaling tacit organizational knowledge and embedding it into Expert AI Agents with persistent memory. It’s all about creating a ground truth from which AI Agents can reason, generate new domain-specific knowledge and insight, and build on (aka “accrete”) accumulated knowledge in perpetuity. Only then can Agents be trusted to make complex split second decisions on behalf of the organization.
This STRATFI award marks an important milestone, not just for Accrete, but for the broader shift in how AI is operationalized to meet real-world challenges. As threats become more complex and the data landscape becomes more fragmented, the ability to reason, adapt, and act at scale is no longer optional—it’s essential.
